Hosted IP Telephony

How does it work?

Hosted telephony is an on-demand type solution, where a client company uses a remote telephone system (belonging to a host) to provide communications services. Instead of installing an in-house PBX, the client buys a share of the host's PBX. Maintaining and upgrading the system becomes the hosts' responsibility.

Hosted telephony can be used as a stand - alone solution or to complement a client-owned PBX.

Over the last few years business clients have shown a lot of interest in hosted telephony, but the technology did not quite raised to the expectations. Things have now changed, with the first carrier grade host coming onto the UK market.

What benefits does Applinet's hosted telephony solutions offer you?

High reliability of the service - Far from being just any off the shelf “phone system in a rack “, the host system is the only carrier grade host system currently available in the UK, based on the very same technology as BT's public telephone networks, to insure your service is up and running at all times.

Powerful feature set - By plugging into our carrier grade Communications Server, all users, including small and medium businesses can now benefit from advanced features that have traditionally only been available to large companies. These include: fully integrated voice and data, presence information and multimedia features like video-conferencing and whiteboarding.

Minimum or no capital expenditure - No more depreciation and obsolescence for costly equipment. With an entirely hosted solution all you need to deploy at your site are the phones and the cables - You will never need worry about upgrades or replacement of an out-of-date telephone infrastructure again. Also, you will be able to use any SIP standard handsets, so that you won't have to spend a lot of money on proprietary handsets.

Low operational expenditure - You never need worry about repairs, maintenance or day-to-day system management; all this is done by the host. Depending on your total number of users, a hosted solution could be much more cost effective in the long run than owning an in-house telephone system.

Unmatched flexibility - Whether you need to expand or contract your workforce, relocate or open a new office, a hosted solution will adapt to any changes fast, with minimum costs and no effort on your part. You can seamlessly connect home workers to your corporate telephone network whenever you choose - the clients calling in will never be able to tell if their call was picked up by an office or home-based worker.

Simple day to day management - DDI additions, move and changes are low cost and easy to perform.

In-built business continuity solution - your calls can be redirected to alternative numbers with minutes. The alternative numbers can be mobile or home numbers, or alternative corporate offices.

Effective account management - There is one point of contact for all your enquiries, as well as an intuitive on-line account management facility

Ongoing expert advice - As Applinet provide both hosted and client-owned communications solutions, we will give you un-biased advice on what the most cost effective option is for you. As your business grows or changes, we can help you move from a hosted to an in-house solution or a hybrid, according to your business needs and requirements.
